The actress did not get the role of Draupadi because of this reason
When Mahabharat ended, it left a void in the lives of its viewers. Directed by B.R. Chopra, all the characters were a huge favourite with the audience, especially Draupadi. Interestingly, six actresses were considered for the role of Draupadi and finally two names were finalised, one of them was later seen in Bahubali.
Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla was one of them but she turned down the offer because she had already signed the film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ with Aamir Khan. After that Roopa Ganguly and actress Ramya Krishnan were the finalists for this role. Roopa Ganguly got this role because she spoke good Hindi.
Because of this Ramya Krishnan could not get selected
Due to this reason Ramya Krishnan did not get the role. She received a lot of praise for her role of Sivagami Devi in the film Bahubali. Ramya Krishnan did not get the role of Draupadi in Doordarshan’s Mahabharata. However, she has worked in films in five languages Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Ramya has won the Filmfare Award four times. The 53-year-old actress made her debut with the Malayalam film Neram Pularumbol.
Although this film was released late, her first release was actually the Tamil film Vellai Mansu. Ramya has acted in about 260 films. She married Krishna Vamsi in 2003, whom she met on a film set.
